What is shared ASP.NET web hosting?

In order to get your WWW name, you need to have the name registered with a domain name registrar, and have a location the name will be residing at. For your convience Wired Hosting provides free domain registration for our customers.

Does Wired Hosting handle domain name registration?

Yes we do. When you place an order , please specify if it is a new domain or a transfer.  If you are transferring domains we will submit the request to the appropriate registrar. The administrative contact will need to accept the changes. Please contact us if you have questions involving transfers.

How much does a domain name cost?

If you have Wired Hosting register a new domain and sign up to pay annually, the domain name registration is included for free. You will be billed for an annual renewal on the first anniversary of your order. If you would like Wired Hosting to register your domain, but do not wish to sign up for annual billing, then you will be billed $55 for two years of ownership of the domain name. You can convert to an annual billing cycle at any time. If you wish to register your domain name for only one year please indicate that in the "Additional Comments" area and your request will be honored.

How long does it take to set up a new account?

During normal business hours - 8 AM to 8 PM PST Monday through Friday - We will issue an IP address to you within 4 hours of order placement. Orders handled during Saturday and Sunday will be filled the same day.

How long does it take to transfer my domain name to Wired Hosting?

It generally takes 24 - 48 hours to process transfers if you are the administrative contact. If you do not know if you are the administrative contact, please let Wired Hosting know, and we will assist you in contacting your registar to make the necessary changes.

What is an IP address?

Every WWW web site has an (I)nternet (P)rotocol address. It is used to locate your domain on The Internet, and can be used to send data to your site before The InterNIC has authorized your domain name. Every Wired Account has its own IP address.

What are secured pages?

Secured pages provide privacy for transactions needing protection(i.e. financial transactions). Wired Hosting has a secure page available to its customers for use, or you can purchase your own secured page through us. Please contact us if you would like more information on your options using secure pages.

What does disk space mean?

Disk Space represents the "room" allocated for the development of your site.

How do I transfer files to my web site?

You can transfer files using either FTP or Microsoft FrontPage. You can get a free copy of FTP simply by going to download.com and typing in FTP. You will be issued a user name and password to send files to your site when you place an order.

How do I place an order?

It's easy and painless. You can place an order directly from our web site. If you experience any difficulties send a message to support@wiredhosting.com and we will be happy to take care of you.

Do you support CGI scripting?

Yes we do. When you send in an order please identify that you will using CGI scripts and we will set up a directory for you.

Do you support Microsoft FrontPage?

Yes we do. Our servers operate on the Microsoft Windows 2003 operating system. Microsoft FrontPage is a powerful HTML editor that allows you to create fully functional websites in a short amount of time. Please specify you will be using Microsoft FrontPage when you place your order.

What is a POP account?

A POP account is a form of e-mail. It means that your e-mail can be retrieved from any location. A forward is an address that sends mail to a POP account. An autoresponder sends a scripted message in response to an incoming e-mail.

Can I create e-mail accounts myself?

Yes you can. Use our remote administration software.

Does Wired Hosting offer any discounts?

Yes we do. Please see our reseller plans .

Do you offer technical support?

Yes we do. You can reach us on ICQ at 40927225. We also encourage our customers to contact us via e-mail at support@wiredhosting.com. We generally respond to requests within the hour. If we cannot fulfill your request we will contact you directly.

What is shared ASP.NET web hosting?

Shared ASP.NET web hosting simply means that you are sharing a web server with other people. A web server is just a regular computer with some special software on it. With shared ASP.NET web hosting you can have your WWW name, and be able to find your web-site on The Internet. It is a home for your web-site on The Internet.

Do I have to put your banner ads on my site?

No. Your site is yours to do with what you want. We only ask that you follow our acceptable use policy
